Tender Support Engineer

For a major nuclear new build programme in the Netherlands, we are seeking a Tender Support Professional to support the Technology Selection Team during a critical phase of the project: the international procurement of nuclear technology.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the selection of reactor technology for one of Europe’s most important nuclear programmes. The role combines technical engineering insight with structured tender coordination, supporting technical evaluation, facilitating decision-making, and ensuring the integrity of the procurement process.

You will work at the interface between engineering, procurement, legal, and project management, playing a key role in ensuring that technical requirements and tender outcomes are robust, traceable, and aligned with programme objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Coordination & Technology Selection

• Coordinate the tendering process for reactor technology and key suppliers
• Support the Technology Selection Team in technical preparation, evaluation, and decision-making
• Prepare and maintain tender documentation, including technical chapters and supporting analyses
• Facilitate and co-lead technical dialogue sessions with technology vendors

Technical Integration & Stakeholder Coordination

• Process technical input from multidisciplinary experts and integrate outcomes into tender documentation
• Prepare reports, technical summaries, and decision-support material for internal stakeholders
• Organise and structure technical workshops, review sessions, and evaluation meetings
• Act as a technical sparring partner to engineering, procurement, and programme teams

Risk & Process Management

• Identify risks, inconsistencies, and missing boundary conditions in technical proposals
• Monitor progress and ensure alignment with procurement timelines and programme milestones
• Support quality assurance and traceability throughout the tender and selection process

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a technically strong and process-driven engineer or consultant with experience in complex infrastructure, energy, or nuclear programmes.

• MSc degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Nuclear, Civil, Systems Engineering, or similar)
• Minimum 4 years of experience in tender coordination, technical consultancy, or project management
• Experience supporting large, multidisciplinary infrastructure or energy projects
• Strong affinity with procurement processes, systems engineering, feasibility, or RAM/RAMS activities
• Proven stakeholder management and coordination skills
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Desirable Experience

• Experience in the nuclear or wider energy sector
• Familiarity with reactor technology selection, SMRs, or nuclear new build projects (e.g. PALLAS, HFR, or similar)
• Experience preparing tender documentation or supporting technical procurement processes
• Knowledge of RAMS, reliability, or technical evaluation methodologies
• Understanding of public-sector project environments and governance
