We are seeking a seasoned regulatory construction oversight professional to support inspection activities for a first-of-a-kind advanced reactor project. This is an opportunity to apply deep NRC expertise to one of the most closely watched nuclear construction programs in the United States.
What this role offers:
Location: Remote with some travel
Full-Time, Remote, 12-Month Contract, high likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs
Schedule: Standard business hours with project-driven flexibility
Salary Range: $85 – $135/hr – Final hourly rate will be determined based on geographic labor market alignment, skills, experience, and overall fit for the role.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement regulatory oversight procedures for advanced reactor construction
- Conduct independent technical inspections of nuclear construction activities
- Apply NRC regulations, inspection procedures, and regulatory guidance to construction oversight activities
- Evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements, codes, and standards
- Identify issues of regulatory concern and proactively communicate findings to leadership
- Recommend defensible regulatory paths forward to resolve inspection findings
- Interface with construction teams and regulatory personnel to ensure alignment and transparency
- Support oversight of safety-related structures, systems, and components during construction
Qualifications:
- 18+ years of experience with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
- Prior qualification as an NRC reactor inspector
- In-depth knowledge of nuclear power reactor regulations, codes, standards, and inspection guidance
- Experience supporting reactor construction oversight activities
- Ability to independently identify compliance concerns and recommend regulatory resolutions
- Experience applying regulatory expertise in complex or first-of-a-kind environments
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in highly regulated environments
