The Training Material Developer reports to the Operations Training Manager and plays a key role in developing the operations training programs and training materials for the Natrium Demonstration Project (NDP). This position is responsible for creating the programs, processes, and procedures needed to establish and operate both licensed and non‑licensed operator training. The role requires close coordination with internal departments, project partners, regulators, and external organizations involved in operator training.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop operator training processes, programs, and procedures for a new training department, ensuring compliance with company standards, NRC regulations, INPO accreditation criteria, and all applicable codes and requirements.
  • Develop and execute a strategy for initial accreditation of the operator training program.
  • Apply the Systematic Approach to Training to create high‑quality curriculum for licensed and non‑licensed operators.
  • Revise and update training programs to maintain technical and instructional accuracy as plant design, procedures, and processes evolve.
  • Participate actively in the Training Curriculum Review Committee.
  • Work closely with operations management, the emergency response organization, and other groups to support the continuous improvement of training programs.
  • Prepare trainee examinations and evaluation materials for classroom, laboratory, on‑the‑job training, and simulator settings.
  • Develop processes for performance evaluations, trainee counseling, and individualized training plans.
  • Incorporate operating experience, NRC communications, plant design and procedure changes, new regulations, and training effectiveness data into curriculum and training materials.
  • Participate in NRC, INPO, and internal management audits, and assist with responses to findings.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of plant design, plant operations, and related technical disciplines to ensure high‑quality training programs.
  • Supervise collection and maintenance of auditable training records and required program documentation.
  • Support the Operations Training Manager in establishing department goals and preparing cost and budget estimates.

Key Skills and Experience:

* Associate degree in science or engineering.
* Commercial nuclear power plant operator training experience.
* Experience as a simulator instructor.
* Previous SRO/RO license holder, or experience with SRO certification.
* Strong expertise in analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation, and modification of licensed operator training programs.
