What This Role Offers:
Location: Remote
Full-Time, Remote, 12-Month Contract | High likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs
Schedule: M-F
Salary Range: $54 – $90/hr

Responsibilities:

Design nuclear and industrial mechanical systems, including requirements definition, analysis, specifications, and system drawings
-
Develop and maintain system architecture and design documentation (Design Basis Documents, P&IDs, Interface Control Documents)
-
Establish equipment design bases, including regulatory and functional criteria, performance criteria, and failure mode and effects analysis
-
Evaluate equipment and technology development requirements and implement development strategies
-
Develop engineering designs accounting for lifecycle factors including operability, maintainability, and reliability
-
Manage technical interfaces with suppliers and perform technical reviews of deliverables
-
Prepare engineering change packages including calculations, design reports, design drawings, and specifications
-
Support licensing activities for construction and operating permits, including safety analysis reports and topical reports

Participate in project design reviews at milestones and periodic assessment points

Qualifications:
-
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
-
6+ years of relevant experience (Level 10); 10+ years (Level 11)

Advanced degree may partially substitute for experience depending on relevance
-
Demonstrated experience developing designs for complex structures, multi-discipline integration, and mechanical pressure vessel equipment

Strong understanding of configuration management principles and design control tools in nuclear or complex industrial applications

Experience with commercial nuclear reactors, high-temperature pressure vessels, or similar system design highly desired
-
Experience working to ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001 quality standards

PE licensure desired but not required

U.S. citizenship, asylum, refugee, or LPR status required due to U.S. export control requirements
