We are seeking an experienced Plant Radiological Integration Engineer to support the development and integration of advanced nuclear energy projects. This role is ideal for a highly motivated professional with expertise in radiation protection, shielding design, source term analysis, and multidisciplinary engineering integration.
As part of a collaborative engineering environment, you will work closely with design, operations, safety, and analysis teams to ensure radiological requirements are effectively incorporated into plant systems, structures, and components. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating technical activities, supporting licensing efforts, and ensuring alignment between plant design and radiological performance objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate activities between plant design, radiation protection, shielding, source term, risk analysis, and operations teams.
- Ensure alignment between radiological analyses and plant systems, structures, and component (SSC) designs.
- Develop radiation protection and shielding design guidance, procedures, and program documentation.
- Support the generation of technical documents, training materials, and engineering deliverables related to radiation protection and shielding.
- Review and communicate assumptions, requirements, and design inputs from radiological analyses to engineering and operations teams.
- Work with stakeholders to evaluate and implement optimization opportunities related to shielding and radiological performance.
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional technical discussions and design integration activities.
- Coordinate the review of plant analyses and integrate outcomes into overall plant design solutions.
- Support regulatory and licensing activities, including contributions to safety analysis documentation.
- Participate in and support system and subsystem design reviews throughout project development.
- Ensure engineering work is completed in accordance with applicable quality standards and project requirements.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Significant experience in radiological protection, health physics, nuclear plant operations, engineering design, or related technical fields.
- Experience supporting radiation protection and shielding design within nuclear facilities or similar highly regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of source term analysis and radiological assessment methodologies.
- Experience performing shielding analyses using Monte Carlo N-Particle (MCNP) or similar analytical tools.
- Proven ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines and coordinate activities among diverse technical teams.
- Experience with nuclear reactors, nuclear process systems, or other complex engineered systems.
