Role description

We are looking for a Decommissioning Engineer to be part of multiple nuclear projects across the UK for our client Orano.

Role description

As the Decommissioning Engineer, you will join the project team in the Warrington office. This is a unique opportunity to join a diverse team that will support you throughout your career, with plenty of exciting development opportunities for those looking to move forward.


  • Contribute to the decommissioning design studies and waste management throughout the life of the project (Feasibility / Preliminary Design stage, detail design stage, construction stage)
  • Design the implementation of post operation clean up activities including modifications, requirements, implemented technologies
  • Collection and composition of data
  • Development and verification of technical documentation (physical or radiological inventories, waste management, technical notes)
  • Monitor and review the schedule and the allocated budget
  • Participate in coordination meetings, following the technical, planning, and financial progress

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Nuclear Engineering or Process Engineering with a focus on nuclear process
  • Experience in decommissioning projects and nuclear waste management
  • Ability to understand complex issues and deliver solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with client representatives
  • Highly organized and methodical approach to procedures and meeting deadlines
  • Interpersonal skills and highly resourceful
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
