Role description

Description of the Role:

  • Reporting to the Technical Delivery Manager and his Deputy, he/she is responsible for all the design studies of HVAC system(s).
  • They will be the technical responsible engineer for their HVAC system(s), interfacing with customers, industrial partners and suppliers.
  • They will provide guidance and instruction to calculation engineers (aeraulic, seismic and acoustic), project engineers and PDMS designers.
  • They will be based in the office at Lille (France) with occasional travel to customer and partner offices in Paris, Tours and Bristol (UK).

Responsibilities:

  • To lead the technical development of HVAC system(s) through detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
  • To perform their technical deliverables according to the objectives, input data, applicable processes and outputs defined.
  • To ensure the technical work is performed in accordance with customer ‘s specifications, quality, regulatory and legal requirements.
  • To follow the execution of deliverables, resolving technical issues.
  • To technically review and verify deliverables for their content, accuracy, consistency, quality and completeness.
  • Support the Delivery Manager and his Deputy to assess the % of progress, remaining work and due date for completion.
  • To ensure the technical work is performed in a manner to reduce the Health, Safety and Environmental risks and impacts
  • To identify, capture and manage technical risks and opportunities.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

Experience / Skills:

  • Experience in the engineering, realization and commissioning of complex HVAC systems in highly regulated sectors.
  • At least 5 years’ experience of nuclear HVAC systems.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, international and European standards and industry code of practice.
  • Experience in coordinating calculation engineers and draftsmen.
  • Experience in detailed engineering studies involving 3D software packages (PDMS/Navisworks).
