Role description
We are currently looking for an experienced multidisciplinary Engineering Manager to have a strategic role within a nuclear new build project in Poland as the Chief Engineer. This would be a permanent role based in Warsaw, Poland.
Responsibilities
- To provide technical management of a project portfolio and the provision of resources to meet the technical and quality requirements of the defined tasks and deliverables
- To be responsible for the definition of technical solutions that meet client requirements
- To direct, provide guidance and mentor technical teams throughout the delivery of the services
- To review and approve technical submissions
- To provide technical integration across a number of service tasks to provide synergies and transfer of knowledge and experience where these services impact across
- To be the principal focal point for liaison with Client Engineering Management Personnel
- To deputise for the Project Director during periods of absence/ unavailability
- To support the Project Director in technical discussions and interfaces with the client’
- To support and mentor the client as a nuclear ‘learning organisation’
- To be available to the client on an informal basis to provide guidance and advice with the strategy and delivery of complex engineering solutions comprising multiple inputs and phasing
- To ensure compliance with internal procedures, Technical Standards, procedures and European/International standards as appropriate
- Good communication and negotiation skills are essential and the aptitude to drive a team of engineers is crucial. Engineering design experience is fundamental as is nuclear experience
- Proactively providing mentoring and training for staff as required for the benefit of the project and business
Essential skills
- Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline with design experience
- Chartered Status or degree qualified with extensive experience and working towards Chartership
- Significant experience in engineering delivery
- Significant nuclear experience, preferably in a nuclear new build environment
- Proven experience of managing a multi-discipline engineering teams and sub-contractors
- Nuclear New Build focus
