Role description

At the OL3-project, under the authority of the I&C SPE/SSS Section Lead, as Test Analysis Engineer you will be coordinating the commissioning scope related to the automation portions of the Self Standing Systems (*see definition below).

The responsibilities in short include reviewing the automation portion of the SSS prior to the commissioning start and execution of the automation related to the commissioning, as well as control and monitoring activities followed by closing-out activities.


*) SSS – Self-Standing Systems refer to process systems that have embedded their own automation equipment in contrast to the main control and safety systems of the Nuclear Power Plant. They are made up mainly of Siemens S7/STEP7 product lines and relay technology as well as conventional panels under Winccflex or WINCC. They embrace also Profibus DP Fieldbus components and the configuration of the connected devices (slaves)



Knowledge, Experience and Skills


  • Review of the automation portion of the SSS prior to commissioning start with regard to:- SSS requisition file and Detailed design documents available at applicable reference configuration, and Completeness & correctness of commissioning test documents
    -Testing equipment
    – Status of open points and analysis of their impacts on commissioning schedule
    – On-site inspection of the equipment and follow-up of installation
    – Assessment of the workload for that support including the performance of loop testing
  • Execution of the automation related commissioning activities: Support the RFCC (Ready For Commissioning Certificate); Day-to-day execution of the test programs including the issue of test reports; Issuance of fault notifications; Creation of open points, analysis and possible solutions; Troubleshooting and analysis activities; Implementation of temporary changes and Support to the transfer process of the system from commissioning to the Operations Integrated Organization at the completion of pre-operational tests.
  • Control and monitoring activities such as performing the resolution of technical issues occurring during the tests and provide inputs with regards to work progress and status on a system, as well propose corrective actions.
  • Closing-out activities like supporting the issue of Test, System and Phase Commissioning for their portions dealing with PLC and supporting the closing of open points assigned to and related to the automation equipment

Essential skills

5 years of industrial working experience in the energy sector or petrochemicals, nuclear (PWR/EPR) would be a plus
Experience in Field Instrumentation, Control Systems and Networks

Siemens Step S7 PLC coding experience
