Remote, contract employment opportunity for an experienced Nuclear NSSS System Analyst Engineer with  RELAP experience.

Role description

The Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) design engineering organization generates technical requirements and associated design parameters for the modular advanced light water reactor (ALWR) NSSS. Utilizing proven state-of-the-art methodologies NSSS components are engineered to nuclear industry standards. The person in this position performs thermal-hydraulic analysis in accordance with industry standards and applicable regulatory requirements. All work within the NSSS design organization is completed under ASME NQA-1 quality assurance requirements and respective U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission guidelines.



Prepare, check, and review calculations related to thermal-hydraulic performance of reactor coolant system (RCS) and nuclear steam supply system (NSSS) utilizing hydraulic software code NRELAP5 and other needed hand calculations.

Plans, organizes, and performs complex assignments in a team environment. Interfaces with upstream and downstream users of work product to ensure all inputs and analysis needs are addressed.

Acquires, maintains and develops training qualifications.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential skills


Education/Certification: A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering, from a four year ABET accredited college or university.



Minimum 8 years of directly relevant full-time professional experience is required.  Must have recent, demonstrated experience with: Engineering design and analysis of nuclear steam supply systems – reactor coolant system, steam generators, piping.


Thermal-hydraulic analysis using RELAP hydraulic code.
