The Foreman acts as the on-site lead for the contractor’s teams at the JRC Ispra site, directly managing day-to-day decommissioning operations. This role is the key link between workers, engineers, and site management, responsible for coordinating work, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving productivity on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily decommissioning activities and work teams
  • Oversee subcontractors and ensure work is performed to plan and specification
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, legal standards, and best practices
  • Manage site logistics including tools, equipment maintenance, consumables, and housekeeping
  • Allocate tasks, prepare work schedules, and monitor worker attendance
  • Maintain daily records of project progress, incidents, and key activities
  • Act as the primary point of contact between site workers and project management
  • Review and implement procedures in line with decommissioning protocols

Experience & Skills

  • Experience as a Foreman in a nuclear decommissioning, nuclear operations, or radioactive waste management environment
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving capabilities
  • Understanding of occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Languages: Italian and English
