In this role, you will:
Serve as a System Design Engineer supporting the design, analysis, systems engineering, and supplier oversight for advanced nuclear projects. You will work within a collaborative engineering team and interface with multiple design disciplines to ensure seamless system integration and technical excellence.
Responsibilities:

Lead design and development of fluid systems from requirements through commissioning

Conduct technical trade studies and decision-making for system optimization
-
Manage supplier oversight during equipment development, fabrication, and testing
-
Coordinate and review component-level designs within broader system context
-
Prepare technical specifications, operations narratives, and engineering documentation
-
Anticipate and resolve system-level integration issues
-
Participate in and support formal design reviews
-
Generate system design packages, including calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications
-
Develop and manage P&IDs, 3D models, and system interface drawings
-
Interface with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, I&C, civil, nuclear) to establish performance criteria

Propose and lead testing programs for development and qualification

Apply relevant codes and standards (ASME B31.3, BPVC Sections III & VIII)
Required Qualifications & Skills:
-
B.S. in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear Engineering, or related field
-
5+ years of direct experience with mechanical systems design
-
Proficiency with piping systems and P&ID development
-
Experience overseeing suppliers of safety-related equipment
-
Working knowledge of applicable design codes (ASME, BPVC, API)
-
Familiarity with safety classifications and piping design/analysis
-
Experience with quality standards (e.g., ASME NQA-1, AS 9100, ISO 9001)

Self-starter with strong coordination, organizational, and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to manage competing priorities and design constraints

Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
-
High level of integrity, collaboration, and teamwork
