What this role offers:
- Location: Rockville, MD
- Full-Time, Onsite, 12-Month Contract, high likelihood of in-house-conversion based on performance/job needs
- Work Site Expectations: 4 days in office
- Salary Range: $120/hr

Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and mentor a team of engineers in advanced structural analysis and mechanical design for critical reactor systems
- Lead structural analysis for components subjected to high-temperature, transient, and seismic events
- Oversee project execution, resource allocation, and delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables
- Define and drive technical strategies, standards, and methodologies across structural analysis operations
- Resolve complex technical challenges and guide decision-making on engineering best practices
- Collaborate across disciplines to support the design, licensing, and construction of advanced nuclear plants
- Perform and review structural analysis using FEA tools such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, NASTRAN, or LS-DYNA
- Ensure adherence to ASME codes and standards (especially Section III, Div 1 or 5)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience (graduate degrees may count toward experience)
- Strong proficiency in FEA and structural analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, NASTRAN, LS-DYNA)
- Demonstrated experience applying ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, particularly for nuclear systems
- Prior experience managing technical teams and overseeing complex engineering projects
- Preferred: Expertise in structural analysis of metallic/composite components in elevated temperature service
- Experience in design-analyze-build/manufacturing project environments
