What This Role Offers:

Location: Remote

Full-Time | Remote | Contract – 12 months, high likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs

Schedule: M-F

Salary Range: $69 – $115/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Lead design of nuclear fuel handling systems and subsystems from requirements through final design.

  • Coordinate review and integration of thermal, seismic, structural, pipe stress, and heat transfer analyses.

  • Develop and manage drawing packages including P&IDs, 3D models, and system interface drawings.

  • Interface with mechanical, I&C, civil, and nuclear disciplines to identify and specify design and performance criteria.

  • Provide technical oversight of suppliers, including contract administration and technical deliverable reviews.

  • Establish and maintain system requirement documents and Engineering Design Specifications for major plant equipment.

  • Interface with licensing activities associated with Safety Analysis Reports.

  • Propose, support, and oversee testing programs for plant system qualification.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; 10+ years of experience in complex mechanical system design.

  • Demonstrated experience designing nuclear fuel handling or similar high-performance mechanical process systems – required.

  • Experience with ASME Section III and nuclear quality standards such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001.

  • Experience identifying and applying design codes including ASME, ANS, ASTM, IEEE, and NFPA.

  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks requiring multi-disciplinary coordination.

  • Experience in high-temperature system design and multi-discipline integration highly desired.
