If you have the ASME Section III background and the mechanical design chops to tackle complex rotating nuclear reactor equipment, this remote senior role puts you at the center of an industry-defining program.

What This Role Offers:

Location: Remote

Full-Time | Remote | Contract – 12 months, high likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs

Schedule: M-F

Salary Range: $56 – $95/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Lead design of rotatable plug assembly reactor structures and components from requirements through final design.

  • Coordinate inputs and requirements from Engineering and Project teams to produce equipment design solutions.

  • Perform scoping analysis and calculations for design options.

  • Assess technical merit of solutions from team members and lead design reviews.

  • Interface with equipment suppliers for design and fabrication issue resolution.

  • Present equipment and component design results in formal design review settings.

  • Integrate with the team’s engineering analysis activities.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; minimum 8 years of equipment/component design experience (M.S. credited as 2 years).

  • Working experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III.

  • Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).

  • Experience in finite element stress analysis using ANSYS.

  • Familiarity with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools.

  • Experience writing design specifications.

  • Experience with slewing ring bearings and/or elastomeric seals preferred.
