Rotating Machinery SME

Thomas Thor currently has long-term contract openings for Mechanical Engineers with expertise in pumps and rotating machinery that can be performed REMOTELY from your home! Candidates MUST be either US citizens or permanent residents.

Our client is is seeking to contract with a highly capable and motivated Rotating Machinery SME to interface with suppliers. This position reports to the System Design Manager and is focused on integrating and coordinating the work of engineers and system suppliers, fostering a collaborative working relationship, and ensuring hardware design meets design intent.

Responsibilities:
* Oversight of first of multiple large nuclear fluid pumps through design and manufacture.
* Provide oversight to partners and subcontractors developing mechanical system designs for the reactor.
* Coordinate the review of analyses, such as thermal, seismic, structural, pipe stress, heat transfer, and other analyses performed by others and integrate the results into plant design delivery.

Key Qualifications and Skills:
* B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited university
* 15+ years direct experience with proven mechanical systems skills
* 5+ years direct experience with pumps and rotating machinery
* Be a US citizen or permanent resident
