What This Role Offers

Location: Fully Remote
Full-Time, Remote, 12-Month Contract, high likelihood of extension based on performance and project needs
Schedule: M-F
Salary Range: $69-$115/hr based on location and experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop analytical models for radionuclide source terms during normal operation and anticipated operational occurrences
  • Support mechanistic accident source term development for postulated accident scenarios
  • Model containment performance, including mass/energy release and leak rate behavior
  • Provide inputs for radiological consequence models supporting safety and licensing deliverables
  • Participate in hazard analyses, PIRT activities, and SSC classification
  • Contribute to computational method development, model V&V, and software commercial-grade dedication
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to define functional containment strategy and radionuclide control requirements
  • Prepare technical documentation supporting regulatory interactions
  • Support design solutions for worker radiological protection when needed

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of nuclear industry experience
  • Hands-on experience with containment and radionuclide transport tools (e.g., GOTHIC, RADTRAD, MELCOR, SRT, or similar)
  • Knowledge of nuclear safety, regulatory frameworks, and risk-informed performance-based approaches for non-LWRs
  • Familiarity with PRA principles; SFR safety analysis experience highly preferred
  • Understanding of NQA-1 requirements for analysis and software management
  • Strong analytical, modeling, and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary engineering environments
