What This Role Offers

Location: Remote

Full-Time | Remote | 12-Month Contract | High likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs

Schedule: M-F

Salary Range: $37 – $74

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain RELAP5-3D models for steady-state and transient one-dimensional network hydraulic analyses

  • Design and implement plant-level control strategies and component-level controllers

  • Perform first-principles calculations in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics to support and validate analysis results

  • Analyze reactor normal operations, upset events, emergency events, and faulted events to establish design, service, and test loadings and limits

  • Evaluate plant-wide transients for operation narratives and design solutions

  • Conduct multiscale, multidisciplinary control analyses involving sodium, molten salt, and non-condensable fluid thermal hydraulics

  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines – including safety, I&C, component, system, fuel, and control system design teams – to integrate analysis into program-level deliverables

Qualifications

  • B.S. or higher degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering

  • Demonstrated experience with nuclear system codes – RELAP5 or TRACE is required

  • Strong thermal-hydraulic analytical skills including one-dimensional hydraulic network analysis and transient analysis

  • Experience with modeling control systems and I&C is highly desirable

  • Experience with nuclear power plant design or operations is desirable

  • Experience developing new analytical methods is a plus

  • Strong technical writing skills with ability to produce rigorous engineering documentation
