What This Role Offers:
Location: Remote
Full-Time | Remote | 12-Month Contract | High likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs
Schedule: M-F
Salary Range: $37 – $74/hr

Responsibilities:
-
Contribute to PRA work performed inside and outside the organization in coordination with plant design, safety analysis, and other engineering disciplines

Develop fault trees and event trees using CAFTA to reflect the most current plant design
-
Group similar source terms for assignment to event sequence end states
-
Perform risk integration using the PRA model to report risk metrics and importance measures

Perform focused PRA analyses to support trade studies
-
Work with the interdisciplinary team to establish SSC functional, reliability, performance, safety, and quality requirements

Ensure PRA work is appropriate and compliant with regulatory requirements including NEI 18-04 and the ASME/ANS Non-LWR PRA standard

Prepare topical reports and presentations describing PRA methods and analytical results for management, customers, and regulators
Required Qualifications:
-
B.S. in nuclear, mechanical, electrical, or aerospace engineering or similar discipline

One or more years of experience in Probabilistic Risk Assessment

Knowledge of PRA principles and familiarity with the ASME/ANS Non-Light Water PRA standard
-
Knowledge of risk-informed performance-based regulations and applications
-
Familiarity with PRA fundamentals in data, human reliability, accident analysis, severe accidents, and source terms assessments

Experience with PRA software, particularly CAFTA and FRANX; SAPHIRE or Risk Spectrum also valued

Demonstrated technical writing and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience with assessment codes such as GOTHIC, MELCOR, RADTRAD, or similar tools

Experience with sodium-cooled reactors or other advanced reactor technologies
