What This Role Offers:

Location: Bellevue, WA

Full-Time | Onsite/Hybrid | 12-Month Contract | High likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs

Schedule: M-F

Salary Range: $115 – $190/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Specify and describe instrumentation measurement techniques for sodium fast reactor and energy storage technologies, including range, response time, and accuracy analysis

  • Analyze and apply regulatory criteria and standards to complex I&C system design

  • Develop and review system- and component-level specifications, System Requirements Documents, System Design Descriptions, Interface Control Documents, and Engineering Design Specifications

  • Create and manage drawing packages including P&IDs, control system architecture drawings, control logic and loop diagrams, and instrument installation drawings

  • Generate integrated design packages for key systems and components

  • Provide technical direction and oversight of supplier projects, including review of technical deliverables

  • Interface with and support licensing activities associated with Safety Analysis Reports

  • Assist with analyzing design changes and their impacts on interfacing systems

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. or higher in Controls, Electrical, or related discipline from an accredited university

  • 10+ years of direct experience with proven instrumentation and controls systems skills (higher education credited toward experience)

  • Experience in I&C development, diagnostics, and demonstrated ability to design and deliver industrial I&C platforms

  • Familiarity with implementing design control in accordance with nuclear power plant quality assurance (10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1)

  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks in a multi-disciplinary environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with nuclear reactor safety systems or nuclear instrumentation systems design

  • Familiarity with IEEE and IEC standards

  • Experience designing and operating high-temperature (400°C+) processes

  • Experience working with or developing industrial PFDs and P&IDs

  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD Standard, AutoCAD Electrical, or SolidWorks)

  • Experience with formal I&C system startup testing procedures
