To support our client on the development and commissioning of a new nuclear research and isotope production reactor in the Netherlands, we are looking for an IT/OT Cybersecurity Architect. We are seeking an experienced professional who can guide the integration of cybersecurity into the reactor’s Operational Technology (OT) and production environment, from the design phase through to commissioning.

This role sits at the intersection of OT, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture and nuclear safety, in an environment where availability, integrity, safety and security are all of critical importance. It requires someone who can think strategically and architecturally, while bringing the technical depth to assess and guide cybersecurity challenges within complex OT environments.

Main Responsibilities:

Integrating cybersecurity into the digital enterprise strategy for the reactor’s production environments.
Integrating the reactor’s OT systems with the client’s cybersecurity reference architecture and associated cybersecurity support systems.
Guiding the full lifecycle of cybersecurity solutions, covering acquisition, onboarding, installation, integration, testing, acceptance and commissioning.
Ensuring the secure integration of OT systems within the reactor and their connection to IT business systems, and assessing the cybersecurity aspects of these connections at every lifecycle stage.
Applying cybersecurity principles within critical safety and security systems.
Ensuring alignment between the cybersecurity architecture, the OT architecture and the wider enterprise architecture.
Supporting design decisions and translating cybersecurity requirements into concrete architectural and integration solutions.
Working closely with OT engineering, IT, cybersecurity, system architecture, suppliers, and project and commissioning teams.

Required Skills and Experience:

8 or more years of professional experience implementing cybersecurity within critical infrastructure.
5 or more years of professional experience working as an architect.
Hands-on experience applying IEC 62443 in OT or industrial environments.
TOGAF certification, or 8 or more years of professional experience in enterprise or system architecture.
ArchiMate certification, or 8 or more years of professional experience in architectural modelling.
Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Highly Desirable:

Architect experience within the nuclear sector.
