Senior Project Controls Engineer – Cost & Commercial

For one of our clients, we are looking for an experienced Senior Project Controls Engineer to support a nuclear project. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating cost control and reporting activities between contractors and the client organisation. You will lead the setup and further development of enhanced cost reporting and support overall project controls activities within one of the contract packages. The position reports directly to the Project Controls Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

• Coordinate cost control and reporting activities from contractors
• Develop, implement, and improve enhanced cost reporting
• Support project controls activities within assigned contract packages
• Identify, monitor, and manage cost-related risks
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on cost and commercial matters

Key Skills and Experience:

• Significant experience in cost control and/or commercial management within engineering or construction projects
• Significant post‑qualification experience in quantity surveying, cost engineering, or project controls
• Significant experience on major capital projects and/or in highly regulated environments such as nuclear, infrastructure, or industrial projects
• Strong Quantity Surveying (QS) background
• Proven experience with contract types including FIDIC, NEC, EPC, and/or bespoke contracts
• Experience working on both client and contractor side
• Proven capability in commercial negotiations
• Experience managing variations, progress payments, and final accounts
• Experience supporting or managing dispute resolution processes
