Mechanical Engineer / Pressure vessel design. This REMOTE senior role puts that expertise to work on a Generation IV reactor that’s reshaping the industry.

What This Role Offers:

Location: Remote

Full-Time | Remote | Contract – 12 months, high likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs

Schedule: M-F

Salary Range: $69 – $115/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed design, analysis, and documentation for ASME Section III Class HB and/or Section VIII Division 2 vessels including nozzles, flanges, and support brackets.

  • Develop and maintain design specifications, calculations, load evaluations, and qualification reports in compliance with ASME and related nuclear codes.

  • Prepare engineering design packages and perform or review design calculations for accuracy and code compliance.

  • Interface with internal quality teams, third-party reviewers, and regulatory bodies for audits, design reviews, and code certification.

  • Support material selection, fabrication requirements, inspection criteria, and acceptance standards for Class HB and Section VIII components.

  • Participate in engineering change processes, nonconformance evaluations, and corrective action development.

  • Maintain current knowledge of ASME Section III and/or VIII revisions and NRC guidance.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; 6+ years of experience for level 10 or 10+ years for level 11 (M.S. credited as 2 years).

  • Working experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III and/or Section VIII Division 2 (design-by-analysis, not design-by-rule).

  • Experience in finite element stress analysis using ANSYS.

  • Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).

  • Familiarity with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD tools.
