I&C Design Engineer

What this role offers:

Location: Remote

Full-Time, Remote – Contract, 12 months with high likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs

Schedule: M-F

Salary Range: $69-$115 /hr

What you’ll do:

• Develop and review system- and component-level I&C specifications and scopes of work

• Specify instrumentation measurement techniques for high-temperature, advanced reactor process systems

• Apply nuclear codes, standards, and regulatory criteria to complex I&C system design

• Develop technical design documents such as System Requirements Documents, System Design Descriptions, and Interface Control Documents

• Create and manage P&IDs, control system architecture drawings, control logic/loop diagrams, and instrument installation drawings

• Provide technical direction and oversight of I&C supplier projects and deliverables

• Integrate I&C design with other engineering disciplines and support licensing activities tied to Safety Analysis Reports

• Support planning, change control, and analysis of design changes on interfacing systems

What you’ll bring:

• B.S. or higher in Controls, Electrical, or related discipline (higher education counts toward experience)

• 10+ years of direct instrumentation and controls experience

• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver industrial I&C platforms

• Experience with process flow diagrams (PFDs) and P&IDs

• CAD software experience (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or SolidWorks) desired

• Nuclear reactor safety systems or nuclear instrumentation experience desired but not required

• Familiarity with IEEE/IEC standards and nuclear QA requirements (e.g., 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1) desired

• Experience with high-temperature (400°C+) process design desired
