Cost Engineer

Play a key role in cost and forecasting for one of the UK’s largest nuclear new build programmes.

As Cost Engineer, you’ll sit within an Integrated Project Controls team acting as the intelligent owner of delivery performance information for a major UK nuclear construction programme. You’ll work closely with the wider Cost and Forecasting function, helping ensure that cost and schedule data stays accurate, consistent, and genuinely useful for the people making delivery decisions across the project.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate cost and forecast data aligned to the project’s cost/work breakdown structure
• Keep cost and forecasting information up to date within the project’s cost management software
• Produce regular cost and forecasting reports, including commentary on key drivers and performance issues
• Support trend and change analysis, flagging risks and opportunities at project level
• Turn commercial and technical data into clear insights that support confident decision-making
• Provide analytical support to senior colleagues through data interpretation and prioritisation input
• Work collaboratively across engineering, planning, risk, and other project controls disciplines
• Help embed good governance and risk awareness across the wider organisation

Skills and Experience

• A relevant qualification in project management, project controls, engineering, or a related field
• Experience working within a project management environment
• Demonstrable experience in a project controls discipline
• Strong attention to detail and confidence working with data and reporting tools
• Ability to explain complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Comfortable collaborating across teams and organisational boundaries to reach shared outcomes

This role is based near Bristol – on-site as part of one of the UK’s flagship nuclear new build programmes.
