What This Role Offers:

Location: Bellevue, WA

Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Month Contract | High likelihood of extension based on performance/job needs

Schedule: M-F

Salary Range: $56 – $95/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, document, and test software based on formally defined requirements and user-reported bugs

  • Design and implement refactorizations and maintenance to maximize near- and long-term developer and user productivity

  • Support verification and validation efforts to demonstrate code correctness against specifications

  • Identify and resolve performance and productivity bottlenecks

  • Perform administrative data management operations on the backend based on user and management needs

  • Translate new feature requests into formal software requirements

  • Train and support engineering users; provide mentoring to other developers

  • Support software build and testing systems (Jenkins and related CI/CD infrastructure)

  • Support server configuration and maintenance (RHEL environment)

  • Facilitate and participate in design reviews; review proposed code changes before release

  • Ensure compliance with software quality standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering field

  • 6+ years of relevant web application development experience

  • Advanced programming skills in Python and JavaScript

  • 3+ years of in-depth experience with Django and Django REST Framework (DRF)

  • 3+ years of experience with a JavaScript framework, preferably Vue3

  • 3+ years of regularly writing software tests

  • Advanced proficiency with software development tools including git, IDEs, profilers, debuggers, test frameworks, and packaging tools

  • Ability to work within the regulatory quality environment of nuclear reactor design and construction
