Interim Manager Maintenance Labs

We are currently seeking an experienced Interim Manager Maintenance Labs to lead and optimize the maintenance function within a complex nuclear laboratory environment. In this interim leadership role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and reliability strategy of critical laboratory installations, ensuring they are operated safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Reporting directly to the Labs Manager, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team of approximately 35 employees and play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of nuclear safety, operational excellence, and asset reliability.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Maintenance Department, ensuring the safe operation and availability of laboratory installations.
• Define and implement maintenance, reliability, and asset management policies.
• Develop and manage maintenance budgets and long-term maintenance plans.
• Establish and monitor KPIs to drive maintenance performance and continuous improvement.
• Prioritize maintenance activities to maximize reliability, safety, and operational continuity.
• Oversee all maintenance processes, including work preparation, inspections, modifications, execution, reporting, and communication.
• Continuously evaluate and improve maintenance processes and procedures, with particular focus on ageing assets and installations.
• Ensure maintenance and modification activities comply with all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary maintenance teams while fostering a strong safety culture.
• Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic and operational objectives.
• Act as a member of the Labs Management Team, contributing to overall departmental and organizational performance.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Completed technical education at HBO level or equivalent in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Excellent command of both Dutch and English.
• Significant experience within a complex technical, industrial, or highly regulated environment.
• Significant experience in maintenance management, asset management, or reliability management.
• Proven track record of managing maintenance budgets, teams, and long-term maintenance programs.
• Strong understanding of maintenance optimization, reliability engineering, and asset lifecycle management.
• Experience within the nuclear, energy, process, chemical, or other highly regulated industries is highly desirable.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills.
